Do the sides first. Then start in the middle and press on the top. The grip is tight, so you have to use a flat screwdriver to open up about 1" to get started. You can also use soapy water to help it slide on. You really don't want to have to take off and reinstall. Don't stretch it, because then one side will have more material. Have patience, as the seal is tight so it will not pull off.
